Free Green Committee Publication Print E-mail
A valuable USGA publication - and it's free!
    USGA Staff
While we hate to say it, the truth is that effective Green Committees are about as common as 1-irons these days. Problems include a lack of tenure, favoring pet projects and attempts to micro-manage course operations - just to name a few. On the other hand, a well-run Green Committee is a valuable asset that can benefit everyone concerned with the facility.

This 14-page guide provides a wealth of information on Green Committee management and responsibilities. Topics include how to avoid common mistakes, duties of the committee chair and members and how to plan for and manage capital improvement projects. This document is must-reading for everyone involved with golf course management. You can view and/or download the document free of charge by opening the attachment below.

Excel spreadsheet designed for fertilizer record keeping Print E-mail
    Lori:
Greetings from Happy Valley!!  Again, we really enjoyed our visit to Cody.

I just prepared a pretty sweet Excel spreadsheet for fertilizer record keeping, and was hoping you could forward it to the Peaks & Prairies Members. Enjoy, and feel free to pass on to anyone you believe may benefit from such a file.

If interested, please save the file (attached) to your hard drive. You can make multiple copies for ensuing years once it is on your computer (just rename it slightly).

The rules are simple, only enter #'s into green cells.
There are 2 example rows on each worksheet of the file that should help users figure out how to input the necessary info.
You can highlight those cells, then 'right-click' and select 'clear contents' to be rid of those example rows once you decide you don't need them.

    Respectfully –
    Max Schlossberg, Ph.D.
